Here’s a bit about the book, when it has its clothes on. It’s the end of the Goddess War! And did you catch the Princess Bride reference in there?
As ancient immortals are left reeling, a modern Athena and Hermes search the world for answers in the final Goddess War novel by the acclaimed author of Anna Dressed in Blood
For the Goddess of Wisdom, what Athena didn’t know could fill a book. That’s what Ares said.
So she was wrong about some things. So the assault on Olympus left them beaten and scattered and possibly dead. So they have to fight the Fates themselves, who, it turns out, are the source of the gods’ illness. And sure, Athena is stuck in the underworld, holding the body of the only hero she has ever loved.
But Hermes is still topside, trying to power up Andie and Henry before he runs out of time and dies, or the Fates arrive to eat their faces.
And Cassandra is up there somewhere too. On a quest for death. With the god of death.
Just because things haven’t gone exactly according to plan, it doesn’t mean they’ve lost. They’ve only mostly lost. And there’s a big difference.
That cover be gorgeous!! Can’t wait to have it in my greedy little paws!
My favorite character has to be Apollo but with things being the way they are for him, a close second would be Hermes 🙂 I just love your boys! ♡
Thanks for the giveaway!
Aww. I’m glad you like them. Hermes is a favorite of mine, too.
My fave character is Odysseus! He is so galant!!! But i love Hermes also, he is so sassy!
Hermes IS quite sassy. So far the boys seem to be the favorites 🙂 Thanks for entering!
I love Athena. She’s so badass and so real. I like how human she is, despite being a god. And I like the purple streaks in her hair.
I also like the purple streaks in her hair. Thanks for entering!
Athena is my favorite! She was already my favorite Greek goddess and then you created her into this amazing character in your series 🙂
This is great to hear! It was scary working with Athena, because she is already so many things to people. I feared messing her up. Thanks for entering!
I am excited about the next book in this amazing series. It is so hard to pick just one character, but if I had to it would be Hermes I love the boys.
Lots of love for the boys so far…and mostly Hermes. Which pleases me. I adore him. Thanks for entering!
*Eeeeeeep!* Gorgeous cover. Will be exciting to see in person. Of course I’d love a bare bones ARC. 😉 Athena is my pick. She’s just an amazing character. Totally badass and so human. Thanks for the giveaway, Kendare! Xx
She IS pretty badass. It’s been loads of fun working with her. Thank you for entering!
Athena is definitely my favorite. I like that she struggles with being a goddess and wanting what she thinks she shouldnt or cant have. I cant wait to see how her story ends.
I like that about her, too. Thanks for entering!
Athena. She’s so awesome!!
Glad you like her, Ronni! Thanks for entering!
Ha Ha! They’re only “mostly” lost… TPB ref!!
And how could I possibly choose between the badass Athena and fabulous Hermes?
But I WANT this NOW!!!
PS–Thank you forever!!
Mostly lost, mostly dead, it could be worse, right? You could get sucked through a time portal and discover you have no lodestone. Now there’s a pickle. Thanks for entering, Janet!
I absolutely love the guys! I love Hermes, Apollo, Hector… and Athena who has always been my favorite Greek goddess!
I am in love with this series & the covers and the worrying about who you might kill off (not really the last part), *squinty eyes*.
Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂
Some love for the guys! Thanks for entering, Nancy! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the series.
I love them all, but I’ve gotta go with Athena and Hermes. Athena is pretty badass on her own, and Hermes is snarky and hilarious, and together they are a formidable team. Aaaah!!! I can’t wait for Ungodly! “They’ve only mostly lost.” Bahahaha. Favorite movie ever. 😀
I’m glad they kept that in the flap copy. Then again, maybe it slipped through undetected! Thanks for entering, Jen!
Hermes
Ohh, hard to pick – I even like the villains in these books! I’m going to go with Hermes over Athena (even though I LOVE her) because even though he’s literally withering away, he is determined to have the last sass. I’m both excited and terrified to find out everyone’s fates (heh) in Ungodly. Be gentle on your readers!
Ha! Hermes must SO have the last sass. Thanks for entering. I’m glad you like the villains, too!
Yeah Apollo was my #1 fave, but Athena is my other fave! Gotta have one guy and one girl after all! Than it’s not cheating! LOL! 😉
🙂
Athena and Apollo cannot be beat in my mind! 🙂
I only wish they’d had more time to form a dynamic duo! But he’s always on her mind. Thanks for entering!
This series is seriously one of my most favorite series EVER <3 I love Athena so so much she is my favorite character 🙂
I love Hermes and his attitude!
He does have plenty of attitude. Thanks for entering, Kimberly!
I LOVE Hermes!
Me too! He was a blast to write.
I can’t wait until the third book comes out! This series is so incredible and I absolutely love it.
I would have to say that Hermes is my favorite character. He is loyal to Athena and never backs down.He is amazing and won’t give up even if it means his own life.
Lots of Hermes love so far. Thanks for entering! Good luck!
Omg I would faint from happiness to win one of these jewels. Even better than getting a Birkin which has been my dream for years!
My favorite is tied between two. Athena because she has always been my favorite Goddess, even before the books came out. This Athena inspired me to be bolder with myself and I got purple ombré hair. My other is Aidan. I can’t ever have children but when I was little I always said I’d have a son named Aiden.
I hope I win but if I don’t, thank you for being an amazing writer!
Even better than a Birkin! Wow! Wait, that’s a bag, right?
It is a bag hat goes for like 30,000 dollars!
Hey Anita!
Congratulations, you won an ARC! Email me at kendareblake@yahoo.com or via the contact form on my website with your mailing information and who I should sign it to. Thanks for entering. Now you just need that Birkin.
Sorry again for not replying sooner. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!
Hi Kendare. <3 Just wanted to say that you are aaamazing for giving away these ARCs 😀 But ugh, how I wish I could enter, lol. <3 Really, really hoping to get this one from your publisher 🙂 Crossing my fingers. <3
Thanks, Carina! I hope you get one, too! You are so supportive of my books, and I can’t tell you how much that means to me. You’re the best, Carina! And when I do THREE DARK CROWNS Giveaways, they will all be international, I promise 🙂
Ahhh, this series is sooo good! I’m going to be really sad when it ends, but, at the same time, I can’t wait for the ending!!!!
My favourite chararcters are tied between either Athena or Hermes. I mean, Hermes is just awesome. He’s so sassy, I love it! lol But, at the same time, I love how strong Athena is and how she’s keeping up a cool front even though everything is crumbling around her… Although I want to hate Ares, he’s still got so much depth and I’d love to find out more about him!
Thanks for being such great writer!!! 🙂
Thank you for entering! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the series. Also, consider your Ares wish granted: he’s a big part of Ungodly 🙂
I love all your characters, but my favorite is Athena. She’s always been my favorite Greek god so I was super excited to find this series. Hermes is a real close second though. (I’m a little confused about the rest of the ways to enter…)
Athena and Hermes, the dynamic duo! Thanks for entering! The other ways you have to use Twitter or Instagram, or Facebook. Tag me with your picks for actors who would be good to play the characters, or post a cool Greek god image. Link me a song that reminds you of the series. Stuff like that. Your imagination is the limit, if you want extra entries. But if not, this one is enough!
Thanks! In that case, my fan cast for Athena is Jaimie Alexander.
Aidan and Odysseus are my favorite characters. My heart has been broken by these books three times now, only counting the major instances instead of the minor ones that are constant. I just want Aidan back and Odysseus to be alright, but knowing you, that’s unlikely. Despite the constant heartbreak, I love the books and haven’t been able to put them down.
I would pick Janel Parrish for Athena. He isn’t an actor and he is 30, but he has the body and face if a Greek a God, Cristiano Ronaldo. Lol
My favorite character was Apollo so . . . . I guess Cassandra’s brother and best friend. I just wanted to say I bought all four of your books for my middle school and I can’t express how much the kids love them! They are grabbed off the shelf – and I spent a lot of my time refusing to check out the 2nd book until they read the 1st. Thank you for writing such great books with such great characters. Really fills a gap in YA books. Looking forward to the next one. Wish I hadn’t been so late to see this!
Hi Kate!
Thank you for getting my books into the hands of your students. I’m so thrilled they’ve enjoyed them. Although you didn’t win a copy of the ARC, I would like to gift your classroom with one of my author copies, when they arrive. If you could please email me your mailing information and how I should sign it ( for example, to the readers of x middle school, or to Mrs. X’s English class) I will send one your way this fall. Email me at kendareblake@yahoo.com or via the contact form on my website. Thank you again!
Cassandra and Aidan are my favorites 🙂
Oooh… hard choice. I like Athena’s strength, but Hermes’ sass is fan.tas.tic! So…. Hermes!
Mila Kunis is my pick for Athena. She has an otherworldly look to her already and I think she could play Athena’s strong character very well.
Apollo and Odysseus are by far my favorite characters. They’re both so wonderful and selfless. I can’t wait to read this book!
